Brian Parker is an investment strategist with MLC Investment Management. He is a Queenslander by birth, an economist by trade and essentially an optimist by nature; although for the last few years any optimism has been sorely tested. In this presentation Brian discusses what the world needs to do to get out of the mess it's in, and how the Australian economy might fare over the next few years.

Brian Parker

Brian Parker, Investment Strategist, MLC Investment Management

Brian has worked in a series of economics and portfolio management roles with MLC Investment Management, Citigroup, JP Morgan, and Rothschild, and started his financial markets career as a senior analyst in the International Department of the Reserve Bank of Australia. He has an honours degree in economics from the University of Queensland, where he also taught economics, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

At MLC, Brian is part of the capital markets research team, and is responsible for communicating MLC’s Manager of Managers Investment process to the market place. In addition to a regular spot on Sky Business, he is an occasional commentator in other sections of the media, and has become a regular presenter to superfund trustees, financial advisers and their clients around Australia. He has also addresses audiences across Asia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Dubai, France, New Zealand and the UK.
