Equity & Diversity Award
Queensland Law Society is proud to announce Cooper Grace Ward as the QLS Equity and Diversity Award 2013 winner. Cooper Grace Ward demonstrated commitment to equal opportunities, particularly in the areas of gender and cultural diversity; established an active Diversity Committee within the firm; conducted in-person training and online compliance training; and adopted the Equitable Briefing Policy, as developed by the Law Council of Australia.
The Queensland Law Society (QLS) Equity and Diversity Award encourages all Queensland legal practices to promote staff diversity and accommodate lifestyle needs.
Nominations for the QLS Equity and Diversity Award 2014 will open on 1 August 2013.
This is a wonderful opportunity for legal practices to demonstrate how they lead the field in best practice employment policies to build their position as an employer of choice. Achievement of this coveted award is also a great way to reinforce a positive culture within the workplace.
Any non-government legal practice in Queensland, including community legal centres, can nominate. Categories include:
- Large Legal Practice Award - For legal practices with eight or more partners or principals
- Small Legal Practice Award - For legal practices with less than eight partners or principals.
The Equity and Diversity Award guidelines provide more detailed information on judging criteria to enable completion of the nomination form.
All legal practices are encouraged to consider nomination and stand out from the marketplace.
