Queensland Law Society congratulates 2013 QLS president Annette Bradfield on winning the first Women Lawyers Association of Queensland Award for Excellence in Leadership.
Current president Ian Brown said the Society was thrilled to see Ms Bradfield’s hard work recognised.
“Annette’s work ethic, integrity and dedication to the profession are unsurpassed,” Mr Brown said.
“It is wonderful to have such an award created with Annette in mind – it is an additional legacy of her time as Queensland Law Society president.
“We thank the Women Lawyers Association of Queensland for recognising Annette’s major contributions to the profession, and we’re pleased that outstanding female leaders in the profession will be recognised through this award in subsequent years.”
Women Lawyers Association of Queensland president Kelly McIntyre said the award would be special recognition for individuals who display particularly exceptional leadership.
“Annette represented the profession in difficult circumstances last year with grace, humility, honesty and reasoned judgment,” Ms McIntyre said.
“We were proud to have Annette leading the profession in 2013 and decided to tangibly recognise her leadership with this award.
“Our judgment of the esteem with which the profession holds Annette was confirmed by the standing ovation Annette received when presented with the award.
“The Women Lawyers Association of Queensland looks forward to celebrating future female legal profession leaders of Annette’s calibre through this prestigious award.”
