Results of Queensland Law Society’s 2013 Council election have just been released, confirming those who will influence the future of Queensland’s legal profession.
2014 Council members who will take office on 1 January 2014 are:

- Christopher Coyne.
Ms Deborah Awyzio will resign as the Attorney-General’s nominee on Council.
Current president Annette Bradfield said the 2014 Council would oversee the strategic and policy direction of the profession and the change to a modern corporate governance structure.
“It was pleasing to see 1689 members voting, ensuring they have their say at an important time for the profession,” Ms Bradfield said.
“I’m happy to report this is nearly 20% of full members.
“I wish everyone the best of luck in their Council roles for the coming year reviewing and making submissions on legislation, and maintaining the highest standards of professional development, ethical and professional conduct.”
