Queensland Law Society is a proud sponsor of a passionate public performance of “A Man for All Seasons” featuring celebrated members of the legal profession, 6:30pm 17 May at Banco Court, Brisbane.
Those familiar with the hugely popular TV series, The Tudors, may feel they know the story of Thomas More, a man who refused to act against his conscience and sign Henry VIII’s Act of Succession, for which he was executed.
However, Robert Bolt’s classic play brings into sharp relief the clarity of More’s resolution and loyalty to the King juxtaposed with the manipulation and deceit of others.
Part of Law Week 2012 celebrations, the play is also sponsored by the Queensland Young Lawyers Association (QYL) and stars:
- Queensland Law Society president Dr John de Groot
- the Hon Justice White
- the Hon Justice Fryberg
- the Hon Justice Daubney
- Richard Douglas SC
- Stephen Keim SC
- Ralph Devlin SC
- Kristin Ramsey, Vice-President, QYL
- Steven Hogg, Barrister-at-law
- Stephen Mackie, Norton Rose
- Damien Cassidy, professional actor
- Erica Fryberg, professional actor
- Danny Murphy, professional actor.
For bookings, go to qls.com.au or email ManForAllSeasons@qldyounglawyers.com.au. Ticket cost is a donation accepted at the door. All profits will go to Caxton Legal Centre.
