Claim farming submission update
4 July 2018
Leading on from last week’s update on claim farming, Queensland Law Society has now made a further submission to the Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC). The submission provides draft wording for a provision which QLS believes ought to be inserted into the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 to explicitly prohibit claim farming.
The submission also provides draft wording for statutory declarations that the solicitor and claimant will sign to say that the claim did not emanate from a claim farmer. You can read more about our work on claim farming in last week’s QLS Update news item.
