Courts security screening now mandatory

Queensland Courts Service has advised that, effective Monday 14 September 2015, all persons entering the Brisbane Supreme and District Courts will be subject to mandatory security screening.

This includes all staff, legal practitioners, visitors, tenants, contractors and their belongings. This procedure will remain in force until further notice.

Although there is currently no specific threat against the courts, this measure is being undertaken due to the current national security climate.

Security will attempt to process people as quickly and efficiently as possible, and your assistance and patience is greatly appreciated.

It is timely to remind everyone of their responsibility to be vigilant in the workplace and report any suspicious behaviour, irrespective of how trivial it may seem.
