New swimming pool legislation information now available

Queensland Law Society has published
valuable information regarding the new Pool Safety Certificate disclosure regime.
This regime, introduced by the Building and Other Legislation Amendment (No 2) Act 2010, starts on 1 December 2010, and affects:
- Pool owners
- People leasing a house with a pool
- Property vendors (people selling a property) with a pool
- Purchasers who are buying a property with a pool.
If you fall under one of the above categories, you need to be aware of changes in statutory obligations regarding Pool Safety Certificates. For those with a contract settling on or after 1 December 2010, these obligations must be carried out and carry penalties if not observed.
