Invitation for family lawyers!
22 March 2017
Queensland Law Society is seeking applications from family lawyers who are interested in joining the Society’s Family Law Committee.
Our policy committees and working groups are the engine-rooms for the Society’s policy and advocacy to government. The Society, in carrying out its central ethos of advocating for good law and good lawyers, endeavours to ensure that its committees and working groups comprise members across a range of professional backgrounds and expertise.
In doing so, the Society achieves its objective of proffering views which are truly representative of the legal profession on key issues affecting practitioners in Queensland and the industries in which they practise.
Committee membership is a voluntary and honorary position that has the trust and confidence of the Society. As such, committee members are bound by the Society’s Policy Committee Charter, which describes the role and obligations of a committee member and clarifies the Society’s expectation that members always uphold and promote three core values – respect, integrity and service.
If you are a family lawyer who demonstrates these values and are enthusiastic about advocating for good law, we want to hear from you. Please submit your resume with a brief covering letter explaining why you would like to become a member of the QLS Family Law Committee to policy solicitor Vanessa Krulin at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07 3842 5872 to discuss. The Society encourages applications from early career lawyers.
