PPSR registrations – seven year period ends 30 January 2019

Members are reminded that under the Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR), many registrations over serial numbered goods are applied for the maximum period of seven years. From 30 January 2019, it is possible that clients’ PPSR registrations (registered for seven years) will start to expire.

Members are reminded to advise their clients to check the expiry dates for their PPSR registrations and diarise when they need to be renewed. If a registration expires, clients may become unsecured.

The PPSR site sets out how to renew PPSR registrations to avoid expiry. Members are advised to review Lexon’s risk alert for additional information.
