A number of notable Bills were passed last week in State Parliament. The Domestic and Family Violence Protection and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2016 was debated and passed with both Government and Opposition amendments. Queensland Law Society submitted to the Parliamentary Committee inquiry into the Bill and appeared at the public hearing.
Also passed in this sitting were the Public Health (Medicinal Cannabis) Bill 2016 with amendments, the Grammar Schools Bill 2016 with amendments, and the Gene Technology (Queensland) Bill 2016.
Two Bills were introduced during the sitting: The Government Cross River Rail Delivery Authority Bill 2016, and the KAP Sustainable Queensland Dairy Production (Fair Milk Price Logos) Bill 2016.
