Titles Registry update – settlement notices can only be deposited up to 22 December 2017

The Registrar of Titles has advised that the last settlement notices (current Form 23) will only be accepted by the Titles Registry up to close of business at 4.30pm on Friday 22 December 2017.
Practitioners should note that during the business closure period from 4.30pm on Friday 22 December 2017 until open of business at 8.30am on 2 January 2018, no documents can be lodged with the Titles Registry.
The Titles Registry has confirmed that the documents cannot be lodged electronically through e-lodgement or e-conveyancing during this period. However, customers of these services will still be able to access the relevant systems to prepare documents intended to be lodged from 2 January 2018.
From 1 January 2018:
- settlement notices can no longer be deposited in the Titles Registry even if the settlement notice was executed prior to 1 January 2018; and
- only priority notices can be deposited.
Priority Notice Forms can be deposited from 2 January 2018 even if they were signed prior to 1 January 2018.
