Section 24 of the Legal Profession Act 2004, in general, requires all practitioners other than those fully employed as a government legal officer to hold current practising certificates.

Practising certificates are dated as at the date of receipt of all completed documents and relevant fees. Applications cannot be accepted if forms are executed prior to the date of admission.
