Queensland Law Society

Resources & publications

Queensland Law Society (QLS) serves the community interest by educating people on legal concepts and processes. Contrary to many commonly accessible sources of legal documentation or advice, QLS brochures are written in simple, comprehensible English. They are designed to explain complex legal matters in layman terms and provide a first point of reference when contacting a solicitor.

Through ongoing liaison with the media, we strive to achieve informed and balanced reporting on legal issues, the profession and the Society. We have a range of media releases available online including archive.

QLS Update is a eNewletters that is produced and available to both members and non-members to keep them informed of the latest news affecting the profession. Proctor is a magazine that is produced to keep members, their clients and the public informed on all aspects of law and the legal practice.

QLS is committed to ensuring members, government and the public are fully informed about our activities, this information is available online within the QLS Annual Reports and Strategic Plans.

The Right to Information (RTI) laws form part of the Queensland Government's initiative to provide the public greater access to information as well as encouraging openness in government agencies. Find out more about Right to Information.
