Federal Magistrate Lapthorn – Federal Magistrates Court of Australia
Federal Magistrate Lapthorn was appointed to the bench in August 2005, sitting originally in the Newcastle registry of the court. However, in 2010 he returned to Brisbane. Prior to his appointment, His Honour practised as a barrister since 1989 in both Brisbane and Sydney, primarily in family and child welfare law. His Honour is currently a member of the Family Law Council.
