Federal Magistrate Susan Purdon-Sully – Federal Circuit Court of Australia
Her Honour, Federal Magistrate Susan Purdon-Sully, was appointed to the Federal Magistrates Court of Australia in October 2007. Prior to her appointment she was a partner with the Brisbane law firm, Hopgood Ganim. During a practice that spanned 25 years her principal professional interest was primary dispute resolution.
From 2004 to 2007 she was a member of the Family Law Council of Australia, the peak advisory body to the Federal Attorney General on family law matters. During her term she chaired the Council’s committee on Collaborative Law. She has also served on the Practitioner’s Panel of the Legal Practice Tribunal and a number of government boards including the Queensland Art Gallery.
