Domestic violence working group

Background

On 26 February 2015, the Queensland Government released its report, “Not Now, Not Ever – Putting an End to Domestic and Family Violence in Queensland” (The Bryce Report). The Bryce Report specifically, through 4 of its 140 recommendations, placed the onus on the Society to take certain action towards addressing domestic and family violence in Queensland.

Accordingly, the Society’s Domestic Violence Working Group (DVWG) was established in June 2015 to consider the Society’s response to these recommendations.

The DVWG’s resultant research and queries across a broad range of key stakeholders has resulted in the Society producing a set of Best Practice Guidelines (BPGs) as reference tool for practitioners. The Society is holding its official launch of the BPGs on 27 July 2016.
