Legal support staff qualifications

Make 2017 your best year for practice success – invest in yourself or your staff by completing a Certificate IV in Legal Services or a Diploma of Legal Services. Legal support staff provide critical administrative and business support to law practices. Our nationally recognised qualifications empower staff and boost productivity, raising the performance of your firm.

In order to obtain the qualifications, students are required to complete the following units:

  • Certificate IV in Legal Services - total of 12 units (8 core and 4 elective) within 24 months for full-time employees or within 48 months for part time employees
  • Diploma of Legal Services - total of 10 units (4 core and 6 elective) within 36 months for full-time employees or within 72 months for part time employees.

Prerequisites and enrolment

Please note that we are not taking any new enrolments in this qualification.

These courses provide students with the skills and knowledge to provide support in a range of legal service settings. There are no entry requirements for these qualifications. 

Courses are delivered in a self-study format in the form of reading materials with review exercises, plus formal assessment questions and exercises. Students can enrol in the entire course, or in individual units.

Cost

Course costs are $4,400 (including GST) per student.

Funding may be available for BSB42215 Certificate IV in Legal Services and BSB52215 Diploma of Legal Services students who enrol within 3 months (full time) or 12 months (part time) of starting their employment. More information on federal funding can be found here.
