Senior Ethics Solicitor
Stafford was admitted as a solicitor in 1987. Between 1993 and 2003 he practised in partnership and subsequently as a sole practitioner. In 2008 Stafford joined Queensland Law Society and was subsequently appointed as Senior Ethics Solicitor. He leads the QLS Ethics Centre, provides continuing legal education to members and university students and is Executive Officer to the Society’s Ethics Committee. Stafford’s areas of interest are conveyancing, leasing, wills and estate administration, and equitable doctrines.
Stafford holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland and a Master of Laws (Commercial and Corporate) from the University of Queensland, a postgraduate certificate in arbitration and mediation from the University of Adelaide and is a graded arbitrator.
David was admitted as a solicitor in 1996 and was in private practice until he joined the Queensland Law Society Ethics Centre in November 2012.
David’s experience, initially as an employee and then as a sole practitioner included crime, property, litigation and estate planning. Since joining the Society, he has been responsible for providing ethical guidance to members, professional development and undergraduate education programs.
