Search Warrants and Statutory Notices to Produce Documents
9.2 A solicitor may disclose confidential client information if:
9.2.2 the solicitor is permitted or is compelled by law to disclose;
A solicitor may be served with a search warrant or a statutory notice to hand over documents from the files of current or former clients. The solicitor has to maintain the confidentiality and privilege in those documents so far as permitted by law, unless the client consents to release of the documents.
