Queensland Law Foundation Pty Ltd (QLF) is trustee for Law Foundation-Queensland (LF-Q), a trust established on the 15th November 2002 by a deed entered into between The Honourable Chief Justice Paul de Jersey AC as Settlor, and Queensland Law Foundation Pty Ltd as Trustee.
LF-Q was established to receive the assets of a previously existing trust, invest the same and to stand possessed of that capital and income on behalf of the beneficiaries named in the trust. Those beneficiaries include the Queensland Law Society Inc. and all currently registered members of the QLS.
LF-Q has assisted QLS in the funding of such projects as the production and distribution of the revised edition of the Primary Producers’ Legal Handbook, the facilitation of the QLS video conferencing network, the continued support of its Continuing Legal Education programs, and now operates independently but with the support of the QLS, its service to members of the profession through the Solicitors HotLine service, the Solicitors HelpingHand service and the Benevolent Fund for Solicitors.
The current members of the Board are Mr Raoul Giudes (Chair); Mr Justin O’Sullivan (Chairman Emeritas; Mr Michael Meadows; Mr Ian Berry; Mr Glenn Ferguson; Mr David Roberts; Mrs J Bennett and Mrs Megan Mahon.
