Legal Aid Queensland provides the sole point of access to the justice system for a vast number of Queenslanders. Without it, the most disadvantaged members of our community would be left without the right to legal representation. Legal Aid cases frequently present difficult legal problems which require a great deal of professional skill as well as human understanding.
As Legal Aid is almost exclusively restricted to criminal law and family law areas, practitioners who undertake Legal Aid work are acting for people in areas of the law that are critical to the well-being of our society.
