Membership

If you hold a current practising certificate to practise as a solicitor, you are eligible for full membership of QLS. If you are not a solicitor, but you work in the legal profession, you are a barrister, you are studying law, you are serving articles of clerkship, or you are a university professor, you can still enjoy the benefits by becoming an associate member.

Benefits of Membership

The Queensland Law Society recognises that its membership represents a diverse range of individuals who in the course of their careers play many roles - small business owners, large business owners, executives, employees, experts, novices, mentors and 'perpetual students of the law', to name but a few.

To continue to meet the challenge of delivering benefits to members, QLS needs to both meet the demands of its diverse membership as well as provide services that can advantage the majority of members.

The advantages of QLS membership can be broadly grouped into the three (sometimes overlapping) categories of how QLS can help a member professionally, commercially and connectively.

Professional benefits include member-only access to information and advice, and discounted access to professional development courses.

The connective advantage to membership includes developing a sense of belonging to the profession, through participation on committees, delivering CLE, taking advantage of QLS services and networking.

Member Offers & Member Events

The commercial benefits of membership include a number of services that are an integral part of membership or available to members at discounted rates.

QLS members have exclusive access to many great offers from QLS's commercial benefit providers.

In order to qualify as a member benefit provider, a third party commercial provider must be able demonstrate that it can provide a product or service at a level that is advantageous to QLS members.

QLS may receive a financial benefit from some of these services to help further fund member services.
