Verus Consulting is a specialist professional liability claims and risk management advisor to the insurance, legal and other professional service industries.

In respect to risk management, Verus Consulting provides systems and process advice which is aimed at both improving client service delivery and reducing the potentially adverse consequences of professional error. Risk Management services include:

• ‘Policies and Procedure’ risk management audit and review;
• Organisation systems and process analysis;
• Client matter file quality audits;
• Review of client service delivery processes based upon industry quality standards;
• Specific remedial risk management advice having regard to previous claims or complaints incidents;
• CPD core risk management training. 

By analysing an organisation’s business objectives, systems and risk history, Verus Consulting looks to provide practical advice to assist in enhancing best practice and quality processes as well as managing professional liability risks and ensuring compliance with professional indemnity insurance obligations. Our clients include firms which have sought to address client service delivery issues revealed by professional liability claims and conduct complaints.

Our principal, Michael Behm, is an admitted solicitor and is well known to the legal profession.  For 17 years he was involved in the claims & risk management functions of the Queensland Law Society’s various compulsory professional indemnity insurers, including as Claims Manager for APPIIL and St Paul Travelers Insurance.
