Experience/Availability

Experience pre- and post-admission in serious criminal defence litigation with former Public Defender’s Office (including Supreme Court bail application appearances).   From 1990, solicitor employee of small firms handling further criminal defence litigation and advocacy (including driver licence applications) and litigation (such as personal injuries, debt recovery, estate claims, property disputes) and estate administration.  From 1997, further experience in those areas as services-contract consultant (as distinct from employee) to some small SEQ firms, including some short periods as locum for absent principals supervising all areas of small-firm practice.  Currently engaged flexible hours and part-time with one small GC firm (including occasional locums).  Proficient typing own routine correspondence and short-length documentation and can independently have produced longer documentation by experienced word-processing assistant.

Available Gold Coast region (including Tweed and Beenleigh) for short-duration locum assignments (ideally covering absent principal or employee practising in areas of experience) or part-time/casual solicitor  services (including court appearances) rendered to busy firm for “overflow” work in criminal and/or civil (including estate) litigation areas.  Have home office facilities (including own digital and micro-cassette dictaphones) so can undertake some work away from firm offices.  Negotiable hourly charge rates commensurate with nature and complexity of services sought.  Initial enquiries as to services sought by email please for prompt response.
