Queensland’s rising legal stars are invited to launch their careers skywards next week at the Queensland Law Society’s Legal Careers Expo 2011 starting 1.30pm, Friday 11 March.
The free event at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre includes the A-Z of Queensland’s legal industry who will be looking to meet the State’s best and brightest students and graduates.
Up to 45 exhibitors from law firms, recruitment specialists, government departments and major corporate organisations will be at the Expo.
Last year, 500 law students and graduates attended the event and this year is set to be even bigger.
Queensland Law Society CEO Noela L’Estrange said it is the only careers expo in the State tailored specifically for law students.
“An event like Legal Careers Expo plays an important part in the direction students and new graduates take,” Ms L’Estrange said.
“Our aim is to provide access to the best selection of career opportunities – whether it’s a role in private or public practice, public policy or further study.”
“It’s also a great opportunity for new graduates to sign on for Practical Legal Training or a supervised traineeship which are required prior to being admitted as a practitioner in Queensland.”
Those wishing to attend can pre-register at qls.com.au. Alternatively, entry is available on the day.
