Queensland Law Society is encouraging members across the State to participate in this year’s Society Council elections, with the introduction of e-voting.
President Bruce Doyle said e-voting was in line with the Society’s move to make transactions easier for members who can now renew practising certificates and their membership online.
“The 2011 election signposts a broader change within the Society to encourage a greater member participation rate using the new streamlined voting process,” Mr Doyle said.
“Previous elections were a labour intensive process comprising of the manual production, distribution and counting of paper ballots along with significant printing, postage and processing costs.
“The introduction of online voting will enable a simple, easy and efficient voting experience for members.”
