Domestic and Family Violence Best Practice Guidelines
4 September 2019
The Queensland Law Society’s Domestic and Family Violence Committee is seeking feedback from members of the legal profession on its Best Practice Guidelines (BPG).
In 2015, the Special Taskforce on Domestic and Family Violence in Queensland tabled its report titled Not Now, Not Ever: Putting an end to domestic and family violence in Queensland. The report’s recommendations set the vision and direction for Queensland’s strategy to end domestic and family violence and ensure those affected have access to safety and support. QLS responded swiftly to Recommendation 107 of the Not Now, Not Ever report to develop the first version of the above BPG.
Three years on, numerous legislative amendments have since taken place in the domestic and family violence space.
The Committee has resolved to undertake a comprehensive review and update of its BPG. This Survey is the first step of the Committee’s review process. We want to hear from members of the legal profession: how is the BPG currently being used to guide their practice?
Have your say by completing this short 5 minute survey.
