Queensland Law Society annual report awarded for insight
20 June 2014
The Queensland Law Society 2012-13 Annual Report is now an award-winner, picking up bronze at the Australasian Reporting Awards last night.
The awards, which were announced at a black-tie dinner in Sydney last night, showcase annual reports that meet the highest standards of financial reporting and stakeholder communication.
Queensland Law Society chief executive officer Noela L’Estrange said that, although annual reports were usually the domain of corporate secretariats and compliance overseers, the Society’s 2012-13 report provided an entertaining insight into the legal profession.
“Last year there was considerable effort put into ensuring the report focused on what was of interest to members, providing a picture of the world in which they worked, what the profession looked like and how this influenced our service provision,” Ms L’Estrange said.
“For the first time, the report demonstrated context for demographic data, provided information on law firms that had commenced and ceased practice and illustrated our stakeholder relationships.
“It remains a great read for those in the profession and those interested in the profession.”
