Volunteer family law solicitors needed

Women’s Legal Service (WLS) is reliant on the invaluable contribution volunteers make in order to provide its vital services. Without volunteers the service would be unable to draw on the extensive base of skills and experience with which it provides quality legal assistance to women.

As a volunteer with WLS, your skills will make a positive difference to the many women who access the service. Women’s Legal Service will endeavour to make volunteering a positive and rewarding experience for you.

WLS needs:

Female lawyers who have at least two years’ post-admission experience in family law and domestic violence, are currently practising in family law and hold a practising certificate.

The volunteer program operates two nights a week (Monday and Wednesday) from 6-8pm. You will be required to give 30 minute advice in person and by phone to women who have a booked appointments or have attended the drop-in and are seeking legal advice and support in relation to family law, domestic violence and child protection matters. This is a fast-paced environment and you must be able to work under pressure and to strict time frames.

You need to be able to commit to one evening per month.

Next induction:

Thursday 1 February from 6-7.30pm.
