Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety

The Law Council of Australia is seeking feedback about the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. The commissioners are required to provide an interim report by 31 October 2019.

Feedback on the Federal Circuit Court Case Management Pilot

The Family Law Practitioners Association Queensland (FLPA) is gathering feedback from practitioners on the Federal Circuit Court Case Management Pilot. The current case management pilot commenced in the Brisbane registry of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia in June 2018.

FLPA is seeking examples of cases in which practitioners have experienced issues with trials not proceeding when no judges have been available to hear the matter. Practitioners are requested to provide the following information:

  • the file number
  • the date the trial was listed
  • number of days for which the trial was listed
  • the date the trial was adjourned to (if any) and
  • whether the parties were informed prior to the trial that the trial was being adjourned.
