Livecast fact sheet
Before the livecast
It’s always a good idea to ensure you are prepared well in advance. To join the livecast you will need:
- a computer with stable internet connection to access the livecast interface;
- headphones, quality computer speakers or access to a mobile or landline to access the audio.
The only necessary requirement for you to join the livecast is Adobe Flash Player – the latest version is preferred.

Joining the livecast
Prior to the livecast, attendees will receive a confirmation email from Queensland Law Society. The confirmation will contain a link which you can use to open the livecast page on the day. You will then be required to enter your email address to login to the livecast. You must use the email address which was provided to register for the livecast. Only one login will be valid per registration and email address. The livecast will only be accessible during its advertised time, so please ensure your prompt login and attendance. Registration will open ten minutes prior to the livecast start time, you will not be able to log in prior to this time.
Hearing the livecast
Upon joining the livecast please ensure the sound is activated and turned up on your computer. You will hear hold music until the livecast commences. If not, please check the following:
- Ensure the sound on your computer is enabled and that the volume is turned up.
- Ensure you are in a quiet environment with limited background noise.
- Ensure you are connected to a stable internet connection.
Alternatively, you can listen to the livecast over the telephone by dialling 1800 896 323 and when prompted enter the passcode 1837115618 followed by the # key.

Viewing from your iPhone or Android device
If you are viewing the livecast on a tablet or mobile device, you will be able to login via your web browser. If you are experiencing difficulties joining the livecast via your default browser, you may also try the Chrome browser.

Frequently asked questions
What will the livecast look like?
The livecast player will appear as a webpage. There will be an image of the presenter who is currently speaking, a live view of PowerPoint slides, and an audio player. If you join during registration time, you will hear hold music and see the Queensland Law Society logo until the livecast commences.
How can I talk to the presenter or ask questions?
Throughout the livecast you will have the opportunity to ask questions by clicking on the ‘Ask a Question’ button at the bottom right corner of the livecast page. You will need to enter your name and question, then click submit to send this through to the presenter. The presenter will then address your question when they are able to. You will not be able to be heard during the livecast.
Can I view the livecast more than once after I am registered?
A livecast is only available for viewing in its live format for the duration of the livecast itself. However, livecasts will be recorded so that registered delegates may view the recording on-demand as many times as desired within the following 12 months. On-demand livecasts are also available for purchase if you are unable to view the livecast at the advertised time. Within two weeks of the livecast, purchasers will receive email notification that the on-demand videos are available.
