What’s new at QLS Legal Careers Expo 2020!

A future in law has never looked so diverse! That’s why this year we’re showcasing exhibitors from top-tier, mid-tier and boutique firms as well as NewLaw, legal tech, advocacy, professional advisory and other quasi-law sectors to truly showcase what a career in law looks like in 2020.

Attendees will have the option to ‘choose their own adventure’ and navigate through various career paths and speak with representatives from various practice areas and industries; including:

  • Volunteer and not-for-profit
  • Justice and prosecution
  • Law reform and social justice
  • Government and regulators
  • Legal research, post graduate studies and academia
  • Legal technology & innovation

Supporting your interests outside of law, in law

Now more than ever we hear about diversity and inclusion, flexible working and bringing your whole self to work. Whether it’s within the firm you choose, or an external organisation, there ought to be a place for every ability in law.

That’s why we have invited student and social associations aimed at supporting legal professionals in their interests and identities external to law, in law to share what opportunities they have available for you.

The future of law needs you – all of you.

LinkedIn Profile Checks

For someone looking to make their entrance into the workplace, stay marketable, maintain and expand their networks and connections, they’ll need a vibrant digital profile. That’s why this year we’re offering attendees an online/digital profile check.

There will be an on-site photographer and a booth setup for ‘corporate headshots’ which you can then use to update your digital profile at the ‘Career Hub’ where you’ll have the opportunity to spend 15 minutes for a one-on-one to check* over your existing LinkedIn profile. Please ensure you have already created a profile before signing up for a one-on-one check.

Missed out on a one-on-one sessions, don’t stress. Our resident brand expert and Manager, Membership and Partnerships, Hayley Angell will be delivering hourly sessions on LinkedIn top tips!

Charge and Re-charge stations

A life in law can be overwhelming. That’s why we’ve included a ‘charge and recharge’ station where attendees can unwind over a complimentary mug of coffee (*re-usable cups encouraged) and process the information while charging their devices.

Going ‘Greener’

Creating sustainable futures for the next generation of legal professionals expands beyond sustainable careers. That’s why this year we are ‘going greener’ and pre-releasing a The QLS Legal Careers Expo Handbook online so as to facilitate early awareness and excitement to meet the exhibitors as well as reduce the carbon footprint by limiting the number of hardcopies available.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own re-useable cups and water bottles.
