Recognition of Qualifications
If you are a lawyer intending a move to Queensland from interstate or overseas and plan to practise law here, there is legislation which simplifies the recognition of qualifications.
Moving from Another State or NZ
The Queensland Courts has a fact sheet available which discusses the process of registering on the Queensland roll.
Moving from Overseas
People who have an overseas qualification and are interested in practicing law in Queensland can obtain further information from the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board or from the Law Admissions Consultative Committee (LACC) site on the Law Council of Australia website.
Additional information in relation to skilled migration, and skills assessment and recognition, can be obtained from the Australian Government Department of Education and Training and from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.
