The Aspire Leadership Lecture Series
Journeys in leadership
Leadership is sometimes equated with charisma or vision—you either have it or you don’t. However, leadership skills are not necessarily innate: they can be acquired and honed.
The Aspire Leadership Lecture Series is an initiative of QLS President, Bill Potts and has been developed by QLS Ethics and Practice Centre. The series aims to satisfy the desire among career-building practitioners to enhance their leadership skills including emotional intelligence, self-awareness, self-regulation, self-motivation and being able to adapt and thrive in any given situation.
It is essential for practitioners who want to climb the legal career ladder or progress in any given path, to develop these skills. This series challenges practitioners to build on their foundations, to understand the qualities, values and aspirations from those who lead to obtain the best from within themselves.
Each lecture will feature a leader from within and outside the legal profession who will discuss their journey and provide practical tips to implement and improve leadership skills. By refining practitioners’ skills in this way, the Society seeks to create opportunities for career-building professionals.
Collegiality which is at the centre of the profession, is also fostered with a networking session after the leture where attendees can connect with peers in a relaxed social environement.
Attendees or those who view the lecture online can claim 0.5 CPD points in the core mandatory area of Professional Skills.
Register here for the inaugural lecture which is on Wednesday 24 July and will be delivered by Isabelle Reinecke of Grata Fund.
