Queensland Handbook for Practitioners on Legal Capacity
The Queensland Handbook for Practitioners on legal capacity is a significant new resource for practitioners who need “a sound conceptual framework for assessing whether a client has capacity to give legal instructions.”
The Handbook provides practical guidance on the legal and ethical issues relevant to competency issues for elderly clients, clients with mental illness, intellectual or cognitive impairment.
The Handbook has been prepared by Allens and Queensland Advocacy Incorporated, with contribution by many stakeholders including the QLS Ethics Centre. The Handbook is endorsed by the Society.
