You can now log in to renew your 2026-27 practising certificate and Queensland Law Society (QLS) membership via the myQLS online portal.
The practising certificate and membership renewals period is open from 1 to 31 May 2026. If you are practising law in Queensland, you must renew your practising certificate during this time.
When you submit your renewal
If your employer has not completed the Stage One subscription selection, you must pay in full by credit card when you complete your renewal application. There is no pay later option available.
QLS Membership
If you are not yet a QLS member, you can apply to become one as part of the renewal process. As a member, you will gain access to exclusive services and benefits, to help build your practice and your profile. Find out more about the benefits and opportunities for members.
Professional Standards Scheme
If your employer has elected to participate in the Scheme, you must be a QLS member and participate in the Scheme. You will have no option to exempt from the Professional Standards Scheme and membership when completing your Renewal application.
How do I renew?
From 1 to 31 May 2026:
- Log into myQLS and go to the Notification/tasks section of the home page.
- Navigate to the Renew your QLS practising certificate notification.
- Click Renew now to start your application.
- Alternatively, if you are not renewing in the 2026-27 year, click Not renewing.
- Your online renewal must be submitted and all fees must be paid by 31 May 2026.
