QLS granted WGEA employer of choice citation

Queensland Law Society has today been announced as an employer of choice for gender equality for 2022-24 by the Australian Government’s Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA).

QLS is proud to announce that we have once again been awarded an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation from the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) for 2022-24.

EOCGE organisations have demonstrated a commitment to advancing change – not only among their own workforce, but also in the public arena as leaders role-modelling the benefits of gender equality for their industry peers.

WGEA Director Mary Wooldridge said the citation verified to employees, and potential employees, that an organisation was taking meaningful action to improve the working lives of women and men throughout the business.

““Critically, EOCGE employers are delivering an approach that results in better support structures in place for working families; stronger actions to address pay inequalities; and strategic recruitment, promotion and retention practices that encourage the full participation of women at work.””

QLS People and Culture Manager Catherine Ellemor said QLS was proud to have achieved the two-year EOCGE citation for the second time.

“This recognition acknowledges the Society’s ongoing commitment to gender equality in the workplace, and the importance of creating an inclusive environment for all employees,” Ms Ellemor said. “Gender equality is a strategic priority and underpins the work we are doing to enhance our employee experience.”

QLS first received this citation in 2021, and is one of 104 existing citation holders, with an additional 25 citations being awarded this year. We are honoured to stand alongside the following Employers of Choice in the legal profession:
