Queensland Law Society (QLS) received information from Mr Palmer regarding Mr Iskander's conduct approximately 3 weeks ago, and immediately commenced an investigation into his legal practice, Alexander Law.
As part of this process, we met with Mr Iskander on 31 July at which time he surrendered his pracitising certificate to the Society.
During this time, we have taken the necessary steps to prepare the receivership application and minimise the impact of this on members of the public.
Receivers have now been appointed, and QLS will take possession of the regulated property of the practice (including trust money, property in safe custody, and client files) from Monday 11 August 2025.
The Society will contact all affected clients in the near future. If clients of Alexander Law have queries, they should contact the Society.
The Queensland Law Society's priority in this situation is to protect the public and execute our duties as co-regulator of the legal profession in Queensland. We will continue to work with all parties to achieve the best possible outcomes, in accordance with our responsibilities under the Legal Profession Act.
