Experts across a broad range of legal fields are invited to submit expressions of interest to present at the Queensland Law Society’s Symposium in 2026.

The annual event is extending its call for presenters to include solicitors, barristers, academics, legal technology professionals, and other specialists, reflecting a commitment to contemporary expertise and diverse perspectives.

Symposium 2026 is the centrepiece of the QLS professional learning calendar and will be held on Friday, 13 March 2026, at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Queensland, Australia.

This year’s theme of interconnected highlights the increasingly complex and interdependent nature of contemporary legal practice, where traditional boundaries between practice areas, jurisdictions, and professional roles are dissolving.

In the decades since its inception, Symposium has grown in both size and prestige, becoming a key forum for gaining insights and staying ahead in a changing legal landscape.

To ensure the event remains engaging and forward-thinking, QLS is inviting members to nominate themselves as presenters on topics that are shaping the future of legal practice.

This initiative recognises the value of member expertise and offers a meaningful way to contribute to the profession’s ongoing development.

Submissions are encouraged to explore the theme of interconnected in diverse and creative ways, including:

  • Where practice areas intersect
  • Deconstruction and revelation of hidden connections in practice
  • Tradition meets future
  • Regional and remote connection
  • Technology and human interconnection

To ensure the Symposium program provides practical and engaging learning sessions, nominees can choose to present in several formats, including workshops, panel discussions and lectures.

To express interest in presenting, simply provide a session overview of up to 500 words via the submissions portal by October 10, 2025
