Terms and conditions
- You must retain your status as a full or honorary member of QLS for the duration of the QLS member logo reproduction.
- Law practices are only permitted to display the QLS member logo on their website where all practising solicitors of the firm concurrently hold full membership of the Society. For individual members the QLS member logo may be displayed on your website beside the name of the member only.
- Permission to reproduce the QLS member logo ceases simultaneously with cessation of full or honorary membership and all uses of the QLS member logo must be removed.
- The QLS member logo can only be reproduced in the format contained in the downloadable file provided and must be strictly displayed according to the QLS member logo guidelines.
- You must complete the registration form below and Logo usage is restricted to the registrant named on that form. Third parties are not permitted to use the Logo.
- Eligibility is limited to full or honorary members (QLS members holding practising certificates) and law practices where all practitioners are also QLS full or honorary members.
- QLS may revoke permission for QLS member logo use at any time, at its sole discretion, if in QLS’ opinion, its reputation or brand identity will be adversely affected by your usage.
- Permission to use the QLS member logo is non-exclusive, non-transferable and may not be sub-licensed.
Privacy
The Society is authorised to collect your personal information under the Legal Profession Act 2007 and Legal Profession (Society Rules) 2007 made under that Act for the purpose of carrying out its member benefits objects under Rule 5(j).
In addition, the Society intends to use the personal information you have provided in the above form for a number of other purposes including:
- to include your details on a register of authorised users of the Logo;
- informing the Society’s Professional Leadership department of your Logo reproduction to verify the appropriateness of that usage;
- to check your details with the Society’s records department for verification of your full membership status from time to time; and
- providing you with important information about the Logo and matters affecting your permission to use the Logo.
In accordance with the Electronic Transactions (Queensland) Act 2001, the Society may provide notices about the member logo by electronic communication. By completing this application, your consent to this form of contact is taken to be given.
The Society may also use third parties to administer and deliver member benefit services and communications by email or mail. Some third party suppliers or their products and services are located overseas. Business details and personal information you choose to provide on this registration form may be transferred to an overseas recipient and stored overseas to administer such services and communications to you. By completing this application, you agree to this transfer and Australian Privacy Principle 8.1 will not apply to this disclosure. The Society will also take steps to obtain your express consent to this prior to you choosing to participate in any online survey.
If you do not wish your details to be used for any one or more of the above purposes, you should advise the Records section of the Society, GPO Box 1785, Brisbane QLD 4001 in writing.
