myQLS Project

Big changes afoot for myQLS

Connecting with QLS is becoming simpler and easier.

In 2022, we are launching a new portal which means doing business with us will be online and more accessible.

Among the many new features of the system, we will progressively roll out online forms for many common QLS products and services including:

  • Applying for a Practising Certificate
  • Applying for Full Membership
  • Applying for Associate Membership
  • Applying for Student Member
  • Notifying QLS about a change in name
  • Updating employment details
  • Requesting removal of a Practising Certificate condition

In addition, you will still be able to find information about your practising certificate, employment details as well as change or update contact details.

Changes to myQLS profiles and log ins

Phase 1 | myQLS portal launch | Organisation or law practice sign up | February 2022

QLS is providing organisations and legal practices with more control over their organisation's access.

Practitioner and non practitioner individuals at each organisation or law practice can be designated to manage their law practice or organisation’s information (the primary contact/s). These individuals can invite employees to access the portal, revoke employee access or manage employees attached to the law practice or organisation.

From 7 February 2022 onwards, organisations or law practices will receive an invitation for their nominated primary contact/s to sign-up to the new portal. This staggered approach is so QLS can limit the number of new users on the system at any one time. This will make for a smoother transition for all law practices and help QLS answer any queries in a timely manner.

It will also assist for auto-matching of current records to the associated record in the new system. This match should provide access to the myQLS profile and online applications once verified.

All other organisation or law practice employees should use a personal email account to sign up to myQLS.  This will alleviate the need to create a new log in should employment change. This email is used for myQLS log in purposes only and is not displayed on the Register of Solicitors or the Find a Solicitor service.

Phase 2 | Individual sign up | February to April 2022

In the lead up to renewals, practitioner and non practitioner individuals will receive an invitation to sign up to the new portal. Personal email accounts should be used rather than firm email accounts.  This will alleviate the need to create a new log in should employment change. This email is used for myQLS log in purposes only and is not displayed on the Register of Solicitors or the Find a Solicitor service.
